Growing up bilingual with an albanian mother and a german father I quite naturally developed a passion for languages. And the most fundamental language of the universe turned out to be mathematics. So I went out on a mission to learn this language and also to study the ways of using it - as a physicist.

After graduating with a Masters Degree in particle physics my mathematical interest drew me to the area of cryptography and a trendy application of it: blockchain technology. Together with a good friend of mine I founded a startup, offering a way for creative people to secure their intellectual property. But 9 out of 10 startups fail and we were one of them.

Following this experience I began working in strategy consulting, then in business development and eventually as a university lecturer for mathematics, software development and cryptography. Around that time I also started to create professional education courses covering the topics Data Science, Machine Learning, Python programming and Blockchain Technology.

And of course there is photography in my life. With every picture that I take I try to tell a story of the moment I experienced. And telling a story basically is only possible through some sort of language. So to me photography is just like mathematics - a way to tell a story. The most compelling stories I seem to find in the wilderness where animals live their live completely separated from our modern world. And where we as humans have to do so as well. And this is why you can find wildlife and travel photography in my portfolio.
